AHRC digital communities call: it’s all about involvement

Involving communities in research is essential for success in the AHRC’s latest £4-million “co-production” funding round, associate director of programmes, Gary Grubb, tells Rebecca Hill.

What’s the background to this call?

It explores new research opportunities at the interface between two major programmes—the cross-council Connected Communities programme and the AHRC’s Digital Transformations theme. There are also potential links to the cross-council programme on the digital economy, which has a strand on communities and culture, as well as to some of the AHRC’s activities on the creative economy, such as our knowledge exchange hubs. Although there is that potential for lots of intersections with other activities, it is an open call—researchers don’t have to have had previous funding under any of those initiatives in order to apply. Projects must be submitted before 26 June.
