ESRC opportunity profile: Finding what works in tackling poverty

Rebecca Hill talks to Phil Sooben, the Economic and Social Research Council’s director of policy, resources and communication, about the ESRC's role in the What Works initiative to reduce poverty.

The ESRC has issued a call for projects that can provide evidence of ways to reduce poverty, especially persistent poverty, and reduce the likelihood that people will become poor. The council is providing the funding but the programme will be managed by the Public Policy Institute for Wales, which is funded by the Welsh government. Proposals are due by 24 April.
