The Royal Institution of British Architects is finalising the details for its next round of Research Trust Awards. Murray Fraser, chairman of the grants subcommittee, tells Cristina Gallardo that the panel wants to balance design, academic and practice-based research.
RIBA’s Research Trust Awards scheme is expected to open in March or April, and close in the first week of June. The three or four best proposals will be chosen in early July and will receive up to £10,000 for a two-year project.
Murray Fraser, a professor at University College London’s Bartlett School of Architecture, is stepping down as chairman of the subcommittee with the job of overseeing the RIBA Trust Awards process later this year, after five years in charge.
