My winning proposal: Informing the EU referendum debate

Simon Usherwood and Catherine Barnard, two winners of Changing Europe Senior Fellowships, spoke to Cristina Gallardo about how they shaped their proposals for the ESRC's UK in a Changing Europe programme.

The Changing Europe programme, funded by the Economic and Social Sciences Research Council, will run until December 2019. It has two funding streams: the Changing Europe Senior Fellowship and the UK in a Changing Europe Commissioning Fund for smaller projects and events, which has a rolling deadline.

Usherwood, a political scientist at the University of Surrey, and Barnard, a professor of European law at the University of Cambridge, were successful in the ESRC’s second call for the fellowships. They will be looking at the campaign messages for and against a Brexit, and at European Union migrants’ experience in the UK, respectively.
