Now in its tenth year, Diabetes UK’s Innovators in Diabetes training programme gives early-career researchers a chance to network and build bridges for the future. Lindsay McKenzie hears from Diabetes UK faculty member Richard Holt about a training scheme that includes a weekend away.
The IDia is a three-year programme that helps early-career researchers to connect with other researchers working in diabetes. The aim of the programme is to build a strong research network of basic and clinical researchers and teach these researchers essential skills needed in diabetes research.
Applicants must have at least six years of experience since their bachelors or medical degree. Over the course of the programme, researchers will attend informal meetings and an annual, all-expenses-paid, residential weekend.
