If you’re a researcher who wants to tackle the biggest questions, be they scientific, existential or theological, the John Templeton Foundation should be on your radar. Anna McKie talks to Michael Murray, senior vice-president of programmes, about the foundation’s grant schemes.

The John Templeton Foundation’s small and large grants schemes are open for applications.

The next deadline for small grants, which are worth up to $217,400 (£174,400), is on 30 November. The call will then reopen with a deadline of 31 August 2017.
