My winning proposal: Eyes on the Leverhulme’s prestigious prize

Winning the Philip Leverhulme Prize marks a researcher out as one of the brightest talents in the UK. Don't be daunted by its prestige, you just need a mentor, 2017 prizewinner Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb tells Martha Henriques.

Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb is a reader in applied and computational analysis at the University of Cambridge. She was one of the five Leverhulme Prize winners in the mathematics and statistics strand, announced by the trust last month. There were 30 winners overall.

Schönlieb will use her £100,000 prize to work on a two-year project at the intersection of image processing and machine learning.
