Opportunity profile: Keep biosocial small grant bids simple

Cash-strapped doctoral students will value Parkes Foundation grants, as they can be used to top-up other funding. Applicants should remember the grants' small size and calibrate bids accordingly, trustee Nick Mascie-Taylor tells Sophie Inge.

The Parkes Foundation Small Grants Fund is aimed at masters and PhD students conducting research in the biosocial sciences. Grants are worth up to £1,000 and the deadline for applications is 10 January 2019.
