A scoping call from the RCN Foundation asks bidders to address a neglected research field

Top tips:

  • Focus on identifying areas of best practice in nursing interventions that deal with the changing nature of the needs of people with learning disabilities.
  • It is expected that proposals will predominantly involve secondary research but some primary research can be included to supplement this.
  • Think hard about developing a research model that will deal with the broad nature of the call.
  • Involve both service users and providers in the research.

The Royal College of Nursing Foundation is reinvigorating its work in learning-disability nursing. As part of this, the foundation is looking for a research team, which must include a learning disability nurse, to undertake scoping research to investigate what nursing interventions are currently used to address the changing needs of people with learning disabilities.
