My winning choreography: Science gets into the groove

Dance Your PhD competition entrants learn more than just how to refine their rhumba

The American Association for the Advancement of Science has sponsored the Dance Your PhD contest since its inception 12 years ago. Open to international applicants, it recognises the best videos of PhD theses interpreted in dance form.

The competition has four disciplinary categories—physics, chemistry, biology and social sciences—with an award made in each category. The overall winner also receives a cheque for $1,000. To enter videos of the dance should be uploaded to YouTube and submitted to AAAS by 21 January.
