Take to the airwaves with the AHRC’s New Generation Thinkers scheme
Top tips
- Approach the application as a storytelling exercise, not as a standard grant application.
- Think about how your research could lend itself well to radio and how a journalist might approach your topic to appeal to the public.
- Don’t overprepare for the workshop stage and be ready to improvise and think on your feet.
The New Generation Thinkers scheme, a collaboration between the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the BBC, enables early-career researchers to showcase their research to those outside academia by developing their own programme for BBC Radio 3, as well as appearing regularly on air.
