The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Leverhulme fellowships give researchers a break to build their careers

Top tips

  • Make sure your research idea is well formulated and has clear objectives.
  • Prepare for detailed questions on your teaching workload and how you will support your replacement.
  • Try to solicit strong letters of support to boost your application.

The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowships are for academics who hold a permanent position as a lecturer, senior lecturer or reader at a UK university. The fellowship buys them out of their teaching time to concentrate on research for up to one year.
