The Sir Halley Stewart Trust offers medium-sized grants that can go a long way

With a focus on the prevention of human suffering, the Sir Halley Stewart Trust’s remit is relevant to researchers in a variety of disciplines. However, it is highly discerning about what research it funds—and that is why it is worth calling the trust before putting in a bid, as Sir Halley Stewart Trust grant-winner Louisa Messenger related in this interview published in April 2018.

The trust’s Project Grants are worth up to £60,000 over a period of up to three years (with annual spending capped at £30,000). Researchers may submit applications throughout the year. Applications are taken in for assessment three times a year.
