Worldwide Cancer Research accepts bids on any cancer type from researchers varying seniority

The UK-based but—as its name implies—international funder Worldwide Cancer Research gives equal consideration to bids on any cancer type. It is also a funder that those at the start of their careers would do well to target. As Lorraine Black, Worldwide’s grant-round manager, related in this interview published in February 2018, early career researchers often come out on top in its annual Project Grants competition.

Potential applicants should start preparing bids now: the charity’s 2022 call is due to open in the spring, with a deadline likely at the end of April. In recent calls, projects can be worth up to £250,000 and run for up to three years.
