The Leducq Foundation’s chief scientific officer explains what he looks for in an application
Already among the biggest competitive international medical research grants in the world, the Leducq Foundation’s International Networks of Excellence programme grants have grown in size for the current call, which opened earlier this month. This year, applicants may ask for up to $8 million, a rise of $1m on previous rounds.
In addition, the rule that one network coordinator must be from Europe and another from North America has been lifted so that coordinators can come from any country, as long as they are from different continents. Accordingly, the name of the programme has been changed from Transatlantic Networks of Excellence. Most other details remain the same. The deadline for letters of intent is 13 September.
