Opportunity profile: STFC looks to ignite a spark

Identify and engage your target audience for success in the Spark Awards

Top tips

  • The project must be within the STFC’s remit and feature at least one scientist in that area.
  • Identify your audience and concentrate on inspiring them with your activities.
  • Read up on the STFC’s Wonder Initiative and consider whether your project could contribute.
  • Consider how your project could go beyond your specific audience to a broader one.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council’s Spark Awards run twice a year and aim to support public engagement projects in the council’s remit over a period of up to three years. While astronomy is a frequent subject of focus (as this Funding Insight profile of a previous winning bid demonstrates), the STFC does welcome bids from across its remit (as this profile shows).
