The Ramsay Memorial Fellowships put postdoctoral chemists on the fast track to independence

The highly prestigious Ramsay Memorial Fellowships, founded in 1920, enable early career chemists to pursue their research ideas. The annual competition is open now, with a deadline of 15 November.

Before the deadline last year, David Phillips, professor of chemistry at Imperial College London and chair of the Ramsay Memorial Fellowships Trust’s board of trustees, related what sets the excellent bids apart from the very good ones. Originality, he said, is of vital importance.
