Insights from reviewing, applying for and winning British Heart Foundation grants

One of the UK’s evergreen biomedical funding schemes, the British Heart Foundation’s Project Grants are open year-round without a deadline (although they are taken in for assessment quarterly). They offer up to £350,000 each for up to three years and may cover salaries, research consumables and equipment.

In September 2021, Funding Insight caught up with BHF grant winner and grant reviewer Neena Kalia, of the University of Birmingham, to glean some tips on what makes for a strong bid.
