Addition of criterion favouring early career researchers among changes to British Thyroid Foundation’s 2023 call
Top tips
- The award is preferentially for pump-priming but bids to supplement existing projects are accepted
- Showing patient benefit is important but don’t be put off if your research idea has a less immediate impact
- Demonstrate early patient involvement in your bid
- Start work on ethical approval early
The British Thyroid Foundation has been running its Research Award for more than 20 years, to support small-scale projects on any thyroid condition in any patient population. This year, the foundation has upped the value and duration of the award and researchers can apply for up to £35,000 for projects lasting up to three years. One award will be available and the deadline is 2 July.
