How a geneticist triumphed with the trust

When geneticist Dianne Newbury (pictured) chanced upon a group of people who could speak backwards with great facility, she knew she’d found a worthwhile research avenue. But, for such a project with little immediately apparent clinical impact, who would fund it?

The answer, she told Funding Insight in July 2018, was the Leverhulme Trust via its Research Project Grants.
