- Make sure your idea could not reasonably be accommodated by an existing council-led, responsive-mode scheme
- Involve all disciplines from the start of the planning process
- Make early contact with any facilities you are planning to work with and flag this in your application
UK Research and Innovation is soon to open a pilot scheme for interdisciplinary projects that are not routinely funded through its existing responsive-mode schemes.
