Industrial strategy: A symphony for the entrepreneurial academic?

Allen Alexander interprets the proposed national industrial strategy for the different types of academics working in the UK.

The industrial strategy, recently published by the UK government as a green paper, aims to intrinsically connect the UK’s areas of strength through innovation agencies, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Regional Centres of Excellence and networks of Innovation Centres and science parks; all in parallel with skills and education across the whole education spectrum.

The strategy also aims to extrinsically connect through increased overseas trade frameworks, improved support for exports and for increased innovation leading to world-class goods and services developed in the UK.
