Innovate UK has launched a call for projects to develop technology and processes to create immersive content. Tom Campbell, from the Knowledge Transfer Network, explains what he’s looking for in a good application.
Tom’s top tips
- Projects must be business-led, but can involve academic researchers.
- A content creator must be part of every application.
- You should involve your partners at every stage of the proposal’s development.
- Talk to Innovate UK for objective feedback as you work on the application.
Earlier this year the UK government launched a sector deal for the creative industries. This led on from its industrial strategy and promised £150 million over the next five years for a part of the economy that accounted for £92 billion of gross value added (GVA) in 2016, two million jobs and which is growing twice as fast as the economy as a whole.
