Simple steps to reduce pre- and post-award stress
In a previous article, I tried to demystify the job of the university contracts officer, explaining why contracts for research projects were important and why universities entered into them in the first place.
Here, I aim to put contracts into the context of the life of a research project, right from the time that an academic investigator starts work on a funding application. I will highlight the points at which you should be thinking about the contract in order to make life easier for you (the academic) and you (the pre-award specialist) but also for me (the contracts manager).
