HEFCE consultation on student number controls proposes to let popular universities expand

Oversubscribed universities could increase the number of students they take by 3 per cent a year while others with unfilled places could shrink at the same rate, according to proposals published for consultation by HEFCE. If adopted, the new flexibility in student number controls would considerably raise the stakes in the developing market for undergraduates

Responses required by 28 June.
