Universities must show they can respond quickly to any concerns after student numbers are uncapped.
"Additional assurance” that any institution that rapidly expands or shrinks would also be able to identify and address concerns about the quality of the student experience are being sought by the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
A letter from Madeleine Atkins, chief executive of the English funding council, to vice-chancellors, instructs institutions “to review their arrangements for identifying and resolving early signs of student concerns or complaints” within the coming year.
