Dandridge: OfS ‘just doing its job’ on enhanced monitoring

The proportion of universities under enhanced monitoring is unlikely to change and shows that the Office for Students is doing its job as a regulator, according to its chief executive.

OfS boss Nicola Dandridge told HE that the proportion of institutions on its register placed under enhanced monitoring was not going to “change dramatically” in future. In May, an investigation by HE revealed that almost 200 providers of around 350 on the register were under enhanced monitoring by the OfS.

This means that the OfS may ask these universities for extra data or information, or carry out investigations of specific concerns where conditions of registration could be breached.
