England's regulator slams ‘deficiency of understanding’ in universities’ registration applications
Many universities’ applications to join the Office for Students’ register have been “significantly poor quality” and showed they were not ready to be regulated, according to a damning analysis by the OfS.
In an assessment of its registration process, the regulator said that many applications “demonstrated a deficiency of understanding” and were not up to standard, even when accounting for teething problems expected with a new process.
