Participation gaps grow after A-levels fiasco

  

English regulator taking recruitment data into account when deciding risk of ‘market exit’

The gap between the most and least advantaged students at universities grew after this year’s exams fiasco, while the most selective universities recruited the highest share of extra students.

Board papers for the Office for Students published on 28 October revealed that while the number of students from the lowest Polar participation areas increased this autumn, the gap between the most and least disadvantaged students accepted to university grew wider after the A-levels debacle.
