Number of students in England ‘up 5% in 2019-20’

Office for Students publishes latest Higher Education Students Early Statistics dataset

More than 925,000 students were estimated to have entered higher education in England in the 2019-20 academic year—a 5 per cent increase on the previous year.

According to the Higher Education Students Early Statistics dataset covering 2019-20, published by the Office for Students on 29 July, some 927,502 people were classed as “new entrants” in the last academic year. For 2018-19, the figure was 880,032.
