Universities minister hails “transformative” lifetime skills guarantee but government is warned of possible unintended consequences

Modular study must be at the heart of how education is delivered in the future, the universities minister has told an Office for Students event on adult learning.

Speaking in a prerecorded message to an event held by the OfS to highlight the opportunities for adult learning after the pandemic—and how these would be affected by OfS funding and regulation—Michelle Donelan said the government’s lifetime skills guarantee would “have a transformative impact on post-18 study, giving greater parity between further and higher education”.
