Illuminating connections

British universities have forged more links with Chinese universities during this week’s UK trade mission to China.

The Open University and the universities of Cardiff, Lancaster and Nottingham all signed agreements with Chinese partners which, in the Open University’s case, included the Chongqing Radio and Television University and the Peking University School of Telemedical Education.

Universities and science minister David Willetts said in a statement: “I am pleased that we are strengthening our relationship with China and building on the UK’s position as the education partner of choice.”
