Education secretary urges university bosses to review safety procedures after student accommodation fire

Vice-chancellors have been ordered to review their universities’ fire safety procedures after a blaze ripped through a student accommodation building in Bolton.

All 220 residents evacuated The Cube student accommodation building in Bolton after a fire broke out at around 8.30pm on 15 November, although Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said two people had to be rescued.
