The university admitted an advertisement for a nine-month teaching role should have been for 12 months
Durham University has apologised for any “confusion” caused by a job advert showing a nine-month teaching role, out of line with its promise to set teaching contracts for at least 12 months.
On 22 October, Durham Casuals—an account claiming to be a group of academics at Durham—said it was “sad” to see a nine-month contract advertised for a teaching fellow in criminology, despite Durham University pledging to scrap that length of post for teaching staff in May 2018.
