Ombudsman publishes details of provider-level complaints

The Office of the Independent Adjudicator has published information showing the number of complaints it received about each higher education institution last year.

In its annual statements for 2018, the higher education ombudsman also details the types of complaints received regarding different universities, and the outcomes of those cases. It is also possible to compare the level and type of activity to previous years.

Felicity Mitchell, the independent adjudicator, said the statements were “part of our commitment to be open about the work that we do”.
“We encourage all higher education providers to scrutinise their record in handling complaints and appeals and to consider how they can improve what they do,” she said on 15 May.
