Employers willing to talk about working conditions but refuse to discuss pay
The Universities and Colleges Employers’ Association has offered to restart discussions on working conditions with the University College Union—but pay is off the table.
On 5 December Ucea, which represents 147 employers, said it wanted to restart talks with the UCU as there is “scope for further exploration” on issues around workload, casualisation and the gender and ethnicity pay gaps. However, pay rises are not up for discussion.
