Employers’ association says pay has not fallen by as much as unions say
The Universities and Colleges Employers Association has hit back against claims that higher education salary levels have not kept pace with inflation.
On 4 October, Ucea said it believed that all salary levels on the higher education ‘pay spine’—the scale showing payment bands—had kept pace with inflation since 2013-14 at the scores of institutions it represents. The group said it hired an independent economist to explore the changing value of pay at universities.
