Kapur appointed next King’s College principal

Neuroscientist returns to London institution after four years in Australia

King’s College London has announced that renowned neuroscientist Shitij Kapur will take over as its new president and principal when Edward Byrne steps down from the role next year.

Between 2007 and 2016, Kapur held a number of roles at King’s, including vice-dean for research at the university’s Institute of Psychiatry, and dean and head of school at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.
