Universities ‘must educate themselves’ about Covid workload

Women in professional higher education roles took on more domestic work during lockdown, report shows

Higher education institutions should do more to understand the circumstances in which working parents—particularly mothers—are operating during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report from the Women’s Higher Education Network.

The report, Sharing the Caring, is based on a survey of more than 1,000 parents working in professional services in higher education during the first UK Covid-19 lockdown, between March and June—when schools were closed to pupils.
