UCU members support strike over redundancy and workload fears

Staff at Goldsmiths, University of London, have voted for industrial action over potential redundancies and workload pressures, in a move that will allow them to refuse unnecessary face-to-face teaching.

More than 70 per cent of University and College Union members who voted in the ballot at Goldsmiths backed strike action (350 staff), while 90.7 per cent (441 staff) supported action short of a strike, such as sticking to contract hours. The turnout was 55.8 per cent of members.
