Redundancies loom after ‘loss of income’ during pandemic

Almost 150 people working at the University of Leicester are at risk of redundancy because of its “challenging” finances during the pandemic.

The university said 145 staff had been put on notice of redundancy, with 60 roles likely to be cut across eight departments. It also said that one or two courses could be shut as a result of the redundancies.
