Research-intensive institutions say universities have a ‘duty’ to protect academic standards
Russell Group universities have said they will not use “no detriment” policies this academic year, despite students’ demand for them to return.
The 24 research-intensive universities said on 7 January that although students “have faced and continue to face significant challenges as a result of the ongoing pandemic”, they would not adopt no detriment policies to soften the impact of Covid-19 on students’ grades as they must protect academic standards.
