Head of specialist institutions group warns over lost teaching time
Universities could be under pressure to provide around 40 per cent of practical teaching to final year students on some specialist courses so that they can graduate, a conference has heard.
Speaking at a Westminster Forum conference on value and student’ rights during the pandemic, GuildHE chief executive Gordon Mackenzie warned that the delayed return to on-campus teaching for many students this term had been “a massive challenge” for them and their specialist universities, where practical courses generally need more face-to-face time.
