Employers offer more support to avoid ‘ruinous’ pension rises

     

Universities provide commitments in hope of holding USS joint contribution rate at 31.2 per cent

The vice-chancellors’ group Universities UK has backed further measures to help avoid a sharp spike in salary contributions to the troubled Universities Superannuation Scheme.

In a statement on 21 July, UUK, which represents 340 USS employers in pension negotiations, said that 94 per cent of scheme members had agreed to improve support for the USS in a consultation.
