“Consumerist” students fixate on the number and quality of contact hours.

Undergraduates moan most about a lack of contact hours, according to a report from the Quality Assurance Agency.

The agency analysed the written submissions of students enrolled at the 14 institutions it reviewed during 2011-12. Academic provision was identified as the most important element of higher education for undergraduates and contact hours were considered crucial to the success of a course of study.
