Business leader Trudy Norris-Grey to take role from December

Trudy Norris-Grey has been appointed chair of the university admissions body Ucas, becoming the first woman and the first person who is not a vice-chancellor to take on the role.

Her appointment comes amid strong interest from government and education institutions in how the admissions process operates. Calls for a post-qualification application system have intensified in the wake of this summer’s A-level results debacle and its knock-on impact on universities.
