Universities and businesses will co-design government-funded degree apprenticeships.

The government has launched nine “degree apprenticeships”, a new model which combines higher and vocational education.

Apprentices taking the new qualifications, announced today by David Cameron, be employed throughout their studies and will split their time between universities and the workplace. Places are available starting this September but the number of expected enrolments has not been revealed.
