Government's response to fire comes under scrutiny from Labour candidate
Paul Blomfield, the most recent chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Students, has criticised education secretary Gavin Williamson’s response to the Bolton student accommodation fire, saying it was “helpful but limited”.
All 220 residents of The Cube building in Bolton, managed by Urban Student Living, were accounted for after being displaced when a fire broke out on 15 November. Students have not yet been allowed back on site to collect their belongings.
