Universities increase share of UK international education income

Income from overseas education and TNE activity rises among universities again

Universities accounted for almost 70 per cent of the UK’s £23 billion revenue from education exports in 2018, increasing their share on the previous year.

Data released by the Department for Education on 17 December reveal that higher education contributed 69 per cent of the total £23.3bn income from transnational education (TNE) activity and education exports, bringing £16bn into the country.
