Department for Education confirms level 8 apprenticeships will not be funded
Doctorate-level apprenticeships will no longer be funded by the Department for Education as they are not “in the spirit” of the apprenticeships system.
In a letter to Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education chief executive Jennifer Coupland on 15 June, apprenticeships and skills minister Gillian Keegan explained the Department for Education will no longer fund apprenticeships at level 8, equivalent to a doctorate.
